Koay Laboratory: Unconventional T cells in Immunity and Disease

Research Overview

View Dr Hui-Fern Koay's latest publications listing here.

The Koay Lab studies unconventional T cells, including MAIT, NKT and γδ T cells. These are innate-like immune cells that operate differently from conventional T cells and can recognise disease signals in a broadly donor-unrestricted manner.

The Lab investigates how these cells develop, recognise infection and tissue stress, and contribute to immunity, inflammation and cancer. By combining fundamental immunology with molecular, cellular and translational approaches, the group aims to define the unique biology of unconventional T cells and harness their therapeutic potential.
