Making connections: new BBMED students welcomed
Highlights from the 2021 Melbourne Commencement Ceremony included stories from fellow students and the Peer Mentor Program
With many students engaging in blended learning and connecting at a distance for their studies, the importance of making connections and self care was emphasised at this year's ceremony. Be it meeting fellow students and teaching staff, making new friends, or reaching out for support when needed.
Hosted online by Georgi Coghlan, the ceremony featured the VC's official welcome, a conversation with the Dean of MDHS, Prof Jane Gunn, alumni interview and a focus on the Peer Mentor Program.
"It is only by looking after ourselves that we can achieve our best," said Prof Jane Gunn.
