Dean's Honours Awards celebrate highest achieving graduates
Academic Merit Awards, Faculty Values Award & the Bachelor of Biomedicine Medal were awarded to 7 graduates in the School of Biomedical Sciences.

At the Dean's Honours Awards event for MDHS, held last week, high achieving students, families, guests and Faculty executives celebrated our top performing graduates. The annual event honoured graduates' academic excellence and the contributions of teaching staff in inspiring and enabling these exceptional students to achieve the highest academic results in their cohorts.
Congratulations to our School's highest achieving graduates in the 2025 academic year.
Academic Merit Award - Bachelor of Biomedicine
- Roderick Dong: Roderick has recently started the Juris Doctor Program at UniMelb and while he's still exploring which legal path to pursue, he's looking forward to the learning opportunities ahead.
- Jiaqi Lu: Jiaqi is continuing her studies in medicine, where she hopes to build on the skills and knowledge from her undergraduate degree to work towards becoming a compassionate, patient-centred clinician.
Faculty Values Award - Bachelor of Biomedicine
- Justin Lian: This award recognised Justin engaging in multiple volunteer opportunities, including organising study groups and the End-of-Year Picnic, as well as his work as a student representative on the Faculty Museum Committee.
Academic Merit Award - Bachelor of Biomedicine (Honours)
- Jingen Ma
Academic Merit Award - Master of Biomedical Science
- Scott Carter: Scott plans to publish part of his research and translate the foundational skills he has developed into a clinical environment, to gain differing perspectives on medical research prior to the pursuit of further study.
- Madeleine Jones: Madeleine has presented her research project at local and national conferences, and has now begun her PhD to generate results that enhance therapeutic treatment of depression.

About the Dean's Honours List
The Dean's Honours List is an annual award made to the top performing Bachelor of Biomedicine students in recognition of their academic excellence. The list comprises the top 3-5% performing students at each year level.
