Meet Our Talent
Meet Alicia
With a fascination in physiology and anatomy, Alicia is an aspiring doctor.
It has been a dream of mine since I was in high school and doing the Bachelor of Biomedicine has only strengthened my goal. The degree has affirmed that I really love to learn, and has cemented my passion for medicine.
Soon to graduate, Alicia has loved the anatomy practicals she has done as part of the subject 'Human Structure and Function'.
“The demonstrators were excellent and very knowledgeable, I really enjoyed being surrounded by like-minded people who were passionate about the structure and function of the human body," Alicia says.
Keen to make the most of her time at the University of Melbourne, Alicia has taken on many opportunities to volunteer including Peer Mentorship at VCE Summer School, the Teddy Bear Hospital and the UniMelb Health Social Media Group.
She says another highlight has been the amazing students and lecturers she’s met along the way.
Every one of my lecturers is passionate about what they are teaching…they encourage students to be curious and ask questions. I have met a lot of amazing, driven people throughout my degree and have made friends for life.
For Alicia, prioritising balance in her studies is key.
“You are your best self when you are fulfilled outside of your studies, whether this is through your hobbies, exercise or social activities, it is important to have a balance. For me, I enjoy studying and perform better when I’m exercising every day.”
