Study Overview

Young adults transitioning from high school to university face several challenges, including a lack of belonging at university. This study aims to investigate the relationship between physical activity, wellbeing, student belonging at university, and academic performance.

The study findings will help institutes enact evidence-based initiatives that support student success at the University of Melbourne.

The study is approved by the Human Research Ethics Committee at the University of Melbourne (2025-32100-64522-3).

Eligibility Criteria

  • Enrolled in an undergraduate course at the University of Melbourne and starting their first semester at university.

What the research involves

If you choose to participate, you will be asked to complete an online survey (20 min) that asks you about your demographics, your sense of belonging at the university, and your mental wellbeing and physical activity habits. Participants will be reimbursed $15 for the time they spent completing the survey.
