MHP Staff Years of Service recognition and Excellence Awards
The Melbourne Histology Platform has enjoyed a positive end to 2024, with staff recognised in the MDHS Staff Years of Service celebration and another being a recipient of a Research Infrastructure Excellence Award.
In early December, the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry, and Health Sciences held a ceremony, hosted by Dean of MDHS Professor Jane Gunn AO, to recognise staff with more than 10 years of continuous service to the faculty.
This included two of MHP's staff: Lisa Foster with 15 years service and Laura Leone with 20 years service.
The Research Infrastructure end of year celebration and awards ceremony also brought recognition for MHP. Dr Allison van de Meene (Ian Holmes Imaging Centre), Dr Anders Barlow (Materials Characterisation and Fabrication Platform), and MHP's Platform Manager Dr Chris Freelance were jointly awarded the University of Melbourne Research Infrastructure Excellence Award for Research Development and Training Initiatives "for outstanding contributions to advancing innovative training and capacity-building programs" in recognition of their collaborative annual Biological sample preparation for light, electron, and ion microscopy seminar and workshop series.
