Welcoming Our First Years

Here are the highlights from the 2026 BSS O-Week Camp!

Each year, the Biomedicine Students’ Society (BSS) O-Week Camp sets the tone for our incoming undergrads' university experience. Designed to be fun and meaningful, the camp plays a key role in supporting first year students as they form new connections and begin their biomedicine journey together.

At this year's camp, students were placed into teams and completed a series of activities designed to 'break the ice', build friendships, teamwork and resilience. Challenges included the Dizzy Relay Race, Wig Snatch, Human Knot, Capture the Flag and Slip n Slide!

The Orange Team (below) claimed the victory, with consistently strong performances across all activities!

The final team rankings were:

  1. Orange
  2. Red
  3. Green
  4. Purple
  5. Cyan
  6. Black
  7. White
  8. Yellow
  9. Pink
  10. Navy
