Dr Angelina Fong honoured for MDHS teaching excellence
Dr Fong, of the Department of Physiology, has received the MDHS Award for Learning and Teaching Achievement.
The award celebrates the innovative contributions of MDHS teaching staff who demonstrate sustained excellence in learning and teaching over two or more years.
The application process takes into account several criteria, including applicants’ support for student development and approaches to teaching, learning and assessment.
As one of two recipients of the award, Dr Fong was recognised for her innovative teaching practices, including the use of virtual reality in the classroom and approaches that foster successful student teamwork.
Dr Fong was also praised for receiving outstanding feedback through Student Experience Surveys, and for her coordination and curriculum redesign of the Physiology Honours program, which has seen a marked improvement in students’ scores.
The Award also includes a $5000 prize, to be used for Dr Fong’s learning and teaching development.
