The Business Development and Innovation (BD&I) team offers support with intellectual property and technology licensing to staff and students, helping to foster commercial partnerships, industry collaborations, research impact, and technology transfer. They provide support in identifying and developing opportunities to enhance the real-world application of research.

Kiara has over 25 years' experience in technology commercialisation, finance and new business development through working with a number of small entrepreneurial companies, universities, large research intensive organisations and investment banks. She has spent the last ten years running or consulting to university business development / technology transfer offices.

Dhiraj is the Business Development lead for the School of Biomedical Sciences and Bio21 Institute. He has a breadth of skills in therapeutic development, genomics, diagnostics, digital health and medtech that will be used across MDHS, including connecting discovery research with clinical pathways.

Business Development Director at The Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity

Martin has over 20 years’ experience in research and management in the biotechnology and human and animal health sectors in Australia and Europe. Over the last 11 years Martin has successfully carried out commercial engagement and business development roles across the University and contributed considerably to diverse research revenue streams.
