Patrick Schriek

Over the last eight years I have gained diverse research experience in academia and industry that has helped me to become an aspiring researcher in protein biochemistry and molecular biology. From the development and improvement of diagnostic tests and enzyme-based detection assays in biotechnology companies to the investigation of cellular and molecular processes in our immune system during my PhD studies, my research activities have always resulted in award-winning conference presentations, publications and grant or patent applications. I am capable of rapidly learning new fields and methodologies and enjoy generating new ideas and devising feasible solutions to broadly relevant problems. I have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and enjoy a very well-organised approach to my work. I am a driven and a resourceful person who maintains a positive, proactive attitude when faced with adversity. My specific fields of expertise and interest include biochemistry, biotechnology, and immunology and I have a passion for applying this expertise to help address important problems facing both the Australian and international community.
