Meina Li
I am a research fellow in the department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics at the University of Melbourne. I finished my master study in Peking University with a great focus on screening anti-inflammatory ingredients from Transitional Chinese Medicine. I completed her PhD studies at the University of Melbourne in 2018 in Professor Alastair Stewart’s lab. My PhD project examined determinants of steroid sensitivity, particularly in airway structural cells and was leading translational research projects seeking novel treatments for steroid resistance. The novel findings in my research studies resulted in over 10 papers, and presented my work in couple of international and national conferences. I just started her academic career and is involved in many scientific community, including American Thoracic Society (ATS), The Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand (TSANZ), Australia Chinese Association for Biomedical Sciences (ACABS).
