Dr Kathryn Munro holds an NHMRC-ARC Dementia Research Development Fellowship (awarded 2016, currently part-time) and is based in the Neuron Development and Plasticity lab, led by Dr Jenny Gunnersen, in the Dept. of Anatomy and Neuroscience.
As a Dementia Fellow, Kathryn has been investigating the effects of a potential Alzheimer's disease treatment on cognition, motor function and dendritic spine morphology in mice, and its impact on the functions of Seizure-related gene 6 proteins.
Her past and current research have focused on neural injury and regeneration, central nervous system development, and synaptic plasticity.
