Welcome: BSS O-Week Recap
A warm welcome to all our new students! It’s been an exciting start to O-Week 2025 filled with events designed to help students settle in, make friends and feel at home as they start their Biomedicine and university journey.

The Biomedicine Students’ Society (BSS) kicked things off with 'How to Uni' - a student favourite, this session included a lecture, picnic and provided essential tips and tricks to help new students navigate university life with confidence.
There was a Coffee Catch-Up giving students the perfect chance to connect with their peers and meet committee members in a relaxed setting, and a Trivia Night where students combined their knowledge with teamwork.
And no O-Week would be complete without the traditional BSS O-Week BBQ! This year it included a special twist —‘Get Your Semester Off On The Right Paw’, with a puppy cuddle session designed to promote student well-being.
Finally O-Week wrapped up with a trip to Melbourne Zoo, part of the ‘How to Melbourne’ series. This initiative aims to help international, interstate, and rural students explore the city, make new friends, and feel more connected to their new home.
A huge thank you to everyone who participated in O-Week—we loved seeing so many new faces and can’t wait for an incredible semester – and year - ahead!
