PulseNet Asia Pacific Impact Report
The Centre for Pathogen Genomics is pleased to share the PulseNet Asia Pacific (PNAP) Impact Report, showcasing three years of achievements and technical evolution across our member countries. Since assuming the role of Regional Coordinator in 2022, we have worked in close partnership with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (U.S. CDC) and the Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) to facilitate the transition toward genomic surveillance and tracking foodborne disease outbreaks and antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
This report highlights the significant strides made by member laboratories in establishing local capacity for genomics wet lab workflows, bioinformatics, and epidemiological reporting. While the region continues to work toward more equitable resource access and sustainable funding, the progress documented to date demonstrates the feasibility of establishing and maintaining local genomics capacity. These achievements reflect a reinvigorated network of laboratories dedicated to cross-border collaboration and the joint mission of addressing food safety and AMR across the Asia–Pacific.
