BRIDGe
Building Resilience to Infectious Diseases Through Genomics

The Doherty Institute has a Strategic Partnership with the Australian Government's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) to support infectious disease surveillance and response across the Asia-Pacific region. A key program under this partnership is BRIDGe (Building Resilience to Infectious Diseases Globally through Genomics), implemented by the Centre for Pathogen Genomics. BRIDGe aims to improve genomic surveillance capabilities in Malaysia, Fiji, and the Philippines by working with in-country partners to strengthen strategies, data analysis, workforce training, and regional networking around pathogen genomics for public health. This program builds on existing collaborations to enhance genomics implementation beyond the COVID-19 response across the region.
