Overview
The Centre for Pathogen Genomics Bioinformatics Hub comprises a multidisciplinary team of bioinformaticians, computational biologists, and software engineers. It supports Centre research projects, develops best-practice microbial genomic data analysis approaches, and collaborates with initiatives like the Doherty Institute Computational Science Initiative (CSI) and Melbourne Integrated Genomics (MIG). The Hub provides high-performance computing resources for data analysis and storage. In collaboration with the Centre's Teaching and Training Working Group, it strengthens genomics capacity among researchers and creates a pathogen genomics community of practice across the Asia-Pacific region.
Our Approach
Identify gaps
In currently available bioinformatics tools and develop new approaches
Provide access
To computational infrastructure to support Centre research projects
Enhance data sharing
To support local and global public health decision making
Community of practice
Enhance regional networking, community building, and knowledge sharing
Our Software
AusTrakka
AusTrakka is a nationally endorsed, integrated platform for real-time genomic surveillance. It provides a secure online platform for Australian public health labs to share, store, analyze, and visualize pathogen genomic data and metadata, supporting infectious disease surveillance and enhancing national public health responses
