The Department of Biochemistry and Pharmacology utilises expertise and cutting-edge platform technologies to investigate the molecular basis for life, to understand what goes wrong to cause ill health, and to find therapies to prevent and treat diseases. Our approaches include drug discovery and development, proteomics, metabolomics, microscopic imaging, structural biology, systems biology, and computational biology, including drug target identification and validation using machine learning on large datasets.
