On 24th November, we will be hosting the next Developmental Biology Conversations, where we will hear from A/Prof Louise Cheng (Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre) & A/Prof Jan Kaslin (ARMI). Louise is a Group Leader within the Organogenesis & Cancer Program at Peter Mac. Her lab is a drosophila lab studying organ size control, organ crosstalk and metabolism. Jan is a Group Leader of the Kaslin Lab at ARMI where the group is interested in cellular plasticity in the brain and spinal cord. In particular, the group studies how the neural system can repair itself by mobilising stem cells and how researchers can improve this process. Louise and Jan will be discussing "Understanding timing and cell fate during neurogenesis: When does development end?".

Please note that there is no Stem Cell Conversation scheduled for Wednesday 17th November.

Stem Cell Conversations is a weekly drop in for stem cell researchers to share insights into latest research and how to master WFH in academia.

Stem Cell Conversations will occur weekly for 30-minutes and feature presentations by students and ECRs across our network. These talks will cover topics from project updates and paper reviews to WFH support, tips and any other “fun facts” themes.

Stem Cell Conversations are coordinated by Nadia Rajab, Cameron McKnight, Dr Daniel Bird, Dr Jarmon Lees, Dr Marina Naval Sanchez and Professors Megan Munsie and Christine Wells. Past organising committee members include Helen Flett (née Braybrook), Dr Rita Leitoguinho and Sean Wilson.
