My PhD project aims to investigate post-translational modifications in sex determination and gonad development. Specifically, I am looking at the role of the ubiquitin ligase NEDD4 in this process.

To do this, we are analysing Nedd4 constitutive knockout out mice, as well as gonad specific knockout mice, utilising the Cre/LoxP system, with an overall aim to elucidate the role of this enzyme, and ubiquitination, in gonadogenesis, and identify substrates of NEDD4 in the developing gonads.
