Cellular trafficking and male fertility

Project Details

Development of functional sperm requires control not only of gene expression but also correct regulation of protein and lipid membrane trafficking. Processes as diverse as stem cell differentiation, specialised germ cell cytokinesis and development of elongated spermatozoa all have specific requirements for protein localisation and membrane re-arrangement. We are examining the roles of nuclear importation and vesicular trafficking in sperm development.
