This new University web series will tackle some of the major issues facing the world in relation to COVID-19.
Hosted and moderated by Dean of the MDHS, Professor Shitij Kapur, Life Beyond Coronavirus: The Expert View draws from a range of experts and research from across the University.
The first part in the series addresses “Flattening the Curve”, a term that is being used widely but has also generated a lot of confusion. In this video, a multidisciplinary expert panel unpack what it actually means to flatten the curve and the implications this has on Australian society for living beyond the COVID-19 crisis.
Panellists include:
- Professor Sharon Lewin, Director of the Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity
- Professor James McCaw, mathematical biologist and infectious disease epidemiologist from the Faculty of Science
- Professor Ian Harper, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics
- Professor Joy Damousi, expert on Australian cultural history from the Faculty of Arts
