Prof Megan Munsie highly commended Research Australia finalist

Congratulations to Professor Megan Munsie (Dept of Anatomy & Physiology) who was announced as a highly-commended finalist for Research Australia’s Advocacy Award.

Research Australia held their 18th annual Australian Health and Medical Research Awards presentation this year, celebrating the outstanding achievements of individuals and teams in health and medical research throughout 2020 and 2021.

Our congratulations to Professor Megan Munsie, Deputy Director of the University of Melbourne’s Centre for Stem Cell Systems and Convenor of Stem Cells Australia, who was nominated under the Advocacy Award for her work and leadership within the international stem cell research community. She was awarded as a highly commended finalist for the Advocacy Award at this year’s annual awards presentation.

The Advocacy Award recognises and congratulates Australian champions of health and medical research that raise community awareness and understanding about the importance of health and medical research. Professor Munsie’s advocacy and support for community understanding of medical research is reflected by her contribution to the community through the recently launched Stem Cells Australia website, which helps to dispel misinformation and provide independent advice to guide the general population in their understanding of stem cell research.
