Pursuit: We don't yet know what causes chronic fatigue syndrome, but we're improving diagnosis
New research by Dr Christopher Armstrong and Dr Katherine Huang from the Department of Biochemistry and Pharmacology, recently published in the Nature Journal Communications Medicine, distinguishes for the first time, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome from other conditions.
In the Pursuit article 'We don't yet know what causes chronic fatigue syndrome, but we're improving diagnosis', Dr Armstrong and Dr Huangh discuss the research, a large-scale data study, highlighting the development of a differential diagnostic marker for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. These markers distinguish one condition from others that share similar symptoms, and, enable a faster diagnosis for myalgic encephalomyelitis, also called chronic fatigue syndrome.
