2021 EMCRA Collaborative Award
Congratulations to our early career researchers who have been awarded EMCRA seed funding!
The Early-Mid Career Researchers Association (EMCRA) Collaborative Award aims to promote collaboration between Level A & B postdocs in the School of Biomedical Sciences. Each application is required to have 2-3 postdocs from at least two different departments in the School, on a project of their own devising. This year, 10 applications were received - each were of incredible quality, reflecting the exceptional talent of the postdocs in our School.
$15,000 was awarded to each of the following four projects:
“Mapping mRNA modifications in the human malaria parasite” |
|
“A method to assess heterogeneity in transcriptional networks in skeletal muscle” |
|
“Investigating CuII(atsm) as a treatment for osteoarthritis” |
|
“Uncovering the dynamic role of nasal cilia during bacterial colonisation” |
|
Dr Amar Abdullah and Dr Annabell Bachem were also formally acknowledged as their application was ranked highly enough to be successful in being awarded funding, however unfortunately they had to decline the award this year.
Congratulations to our 2021 EMCRA Collaborative Award winners!
