Associate Professor Peter Crack

Head of Neuropharmacology Laboratory, Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics

I lecture undergraduate and postgraduate students, and I run a research laboratory that investigates acute and chronic neural injury.

I’m inspired by asking questions and trying to figure out how biology works. It’s a cliché, but we’re currently in a golden era in biomedicine. Big data and technology will further revolutionise biomedicine, but creativity will still be the spark.

If I could dine with anyone, it would be Rosalind Franklin, who discovered the x-ray diffraction pattern of the DNA double helix. My advice to my younger self would be when you take out Dad’s car after just getting your license don’t ignore his advice that “it has been raining so the roads will be slippery”. Listen to people who have experience.
