Snakebite primer published in Nature Reviews

In order to increase awareness and knowledge of the epidemiology, pathophysiology and clinical management of snakebite in both the academic community and amongst the general public, an international team of senior snakebite researchers, including the Australian Venom Research Unit's Dr David Williams, has published a Disease Primer on snakebite envenoming in Nature Reviews.

This high profile publication follows the recent reinstatement of snakebite envenoming to the World Health Organisation's list of Class A Neglected Tropical Diseases, and is further evidence that the crisis of snakebite envenoming in the developing world is finally beginning to receive the recognition it requires.
