The Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity is home to the Department of Microbiology and Immunology in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences. With over 34 research groups and more than 190 graduate research students, the Doherty Institute constitutes a diverse research community with a vast choice of projects, including microbiology, immunology, epidemiology, clinical and translational research, infectious diseases surveillance, outbreak investigations and more.

The Open Day provides a unique opportunity for you to explore the latest student research projects, information on entry requirements and how to apply. You are invited to join our meet and greet session over pizza to connect with prospective project supervisors. Our current graduate research students and graduate research coordinators will be available throughout to answer any questions you may have, allowing you to make an informed and confident choice for your future studies.

You will also have the unique opportunity to participate in one of our tours through the prestigious Doherty Institute and experience first-hand what it might feel like to become part of this diverse research community.
