The plentiful promise of the pluripotent

Associate Professor Andrew Laslett and Dr Jacob Goodwin

Associate Professor Andrew Laslett is the Group Leader of the Laslett Group at the Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute (ARMI) at Monash University and CSIRO. The Laslett group investigates the biology of human pluripotent stem cell lines, including embryonic stem cells and human induced pluripotent stem cells – developed cells that have been manipulated to enter a more primitive, less specialised stem cell state.

The group hope that a better understanding of human pluripotent stem cell lines will lead to the development of tools and novel cell lines that will be required for the safe use of these cell types in future cell-based industries.
