Novel Mast Cell-Derived Mediators

We have identified several novel mast cell derived factors that we have shown activate airway 'structural' cells such as smooth muscle, epithelium and fibroblasts. Work is ongoing to identify the mechanisms responsible for this effect and its importance in human inflammatory disease. We are also developing strategies to block the actions of these novel mast cell factors
