Availability

Stock item media are available same day or overnight. (Depending on your location).

One off orders or special media are usually only made on request and at least one weeks notice is required.

Minimum Ordering Requirements

Plates

  • For common usage media, there is no minimum pack size. You may purchase 1 plate if that is all you need.
  • For low use media, the minimum is 5 plates.
  • For rare or special orders, the minimum is 12 –25 plates depending on whether supplements are used.
  • Please discuss your needs with us and we will advise you as to the best way to achieve your requirements.
  • Normally plates are packed in cellophane bags in stacks of 10.
  • Campylobacter media are packed in plastic bags.
  • Light sensitive media are packed in black plastic bags
  • Plate types available:
    • 90mm Full plates
    • 90mm Split Plates (Biplates)
    • 150mm Plates
    • 55-60mm Plates
    • 60mm Contact Plates

Bottled/Tubed Media

  • For common usage media, there is no minimum pack size. You may purchase 1 bottle if that is all you need.
  • For low use media, the minimum is 5 -10.
  • For rare or special orders, the minimum is dependent on what is the smallest volume that can be made allowing for Quality Control and on whether supplements are used.
  • Please discuss your needs with us and we will advise you as to the best way to achieve your requirements.

Price and Conditions

  • Prices for routine media are quoted ex-stock.
  • Prices for special media will have to be costed depending on client requirements.
  • Where clients provide their own container and /or media ingredients, this is reflected in the pricing.
  • All pricing is submitted without obligation and are subject to change without notice.
  • Prices are negotiable where a commitment or contract orders are placed.

Handling and Delivery

  • A handling charge is applied to each order. Orders totaling under $200 will have a $25 handling fee.
  • Orders between $200 and under $2000 will have a $10 handling fee. Orders over $2000 will not be charged a handling fee. This will be applied even if there is no direct delivery charge.
  • All actual costs in delivery will be passed on to the customer. The Media Preparation Unit endeavours to use the most reliable and cost effective couriers to make sure your media will arrive on time, undamaged and by the most economic means.
  • Customers may use their own internal courier system to pick up your order.
  • Customers may choose which courier to use and supply the Media Preparation Unit with an account number to use.
  • Delivery schedules are developed in consultation with the customer.
  • Please note that delivery dates may change to accommodate public holidays.
  • High daytime/night time temperatures may also cause a delivery to be deferred.
  • All packing and packaging of media is carefully done to ensure that all items retain their integrity for the stated shelf life of the medium.

Claims and Returns of Goods

  • Customers are welcome to voice any problems they are experiencing with respect to Media Preparation Unit products, service and delivery.
  • A Culture Media Incident Report is available to record your problem. Ask us for a copy to have on your records. Please use this form and return to us.
  • Every effort will be made to exchange or credit goods in a manner which is fair.
  • The Media Preparation Unit welcomes your feedback at any time. (Good as well as bad).
