Bookings and Training

Bookings can be made via the Australian Research Infrastructure Network (ARIN). It is a cloud based booking calendar that links a number of platforms within the University. ImmunoID and the Melbourne Brain Centre form the Melbourne Cytometry Platform.

For training to become a licensed user please e-mail micro-flowlab@unimelb.edu.au detailing what instruments you require training on and previous Flow Cytometry experience.

Once access has been granted and training is complete save the following link as your bookmark as it provides a shortcut for booking ImmunoID instruments.

Booking Policy

Bookings via the online booking system must be made at least 24 hours in advance of required service. For bookings with less than 24 hours notice, please contact the manager to check availability.

Users can cancel their bookings via the online booking system up to 48 hours before their sort.

Cancellations with between 24-48 hours notice will be charged 50% of the booked time, minimum of 1 hour. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice, and no-shows will be charged in full.

Minimum booking is 1 hour after which users will be charged in 30-minute increments.

All cells for sorting must be sieved through mesh, preferably 40 µm, prior to sorting.

Charging starts from the time booked, so it is in your interest to arrive on time.

Instrumentation for Flow Cytometry is a significant capital investment and as members of the broader medical research community here in Melbourne, we want to see such facilities fully utilised. If the ImmunoID Flow Cytometry is fully booked for the time of planned use, the following facilities are available for use by our staff and students. In each case, you should contact the contact person of the facility to arrange this.
